Roots
This beloved hot dog shop has been a fixture in the Castro Valley community since 1982, originally opening its doors as part of the Kasper’s Hot Dogs family — a Bay Area tradition dating back to 1930. Known for its signature all-beef hot dogs and neighborhood charm, this spot quickly became a local favorite.
Carmen joined the Kasper’s team in 1998, bringing warmth, heart, and dedication to the counter every day. Her daughter, Tatiana, followed in her footsteps in 2015, making this a true family affair.
A New Chapter Begins
In 2025, after more than four decades of service, the Kasper’s brand made the difficult decision to close the Castro Valley location. But the community had something to say about that — and Carmen and Tatiana listened.
Fueled by love for their customers and a deep-rooted connection to this place, the mother-daughter duo stepped in to keep the tradition alive. Today, they proudly welcome you to Karmen’s — same location, same menu, same legendary hot dogs — now under family ownership.
A True Family Venture
Carmen isn’t doing it alone. Her children — Ramon, Michael, Junior, and Tatiana — are all stepping in to help bring this next chapter to life. Whether working behind the counter, managing the business, or simply lending a hand, the Wolf/DeAnda family is all in — together. Their shared goal is to keep this community treasure thriving for generations to come.
